What it feels like to play

Rondo is a full-size map built around contrast. One area feels calm and natural, then you rotate into sharper terrain and more built-up zones. It plays like a “new era” big map: you need good movement, good timing, and a plan for both open and urban fights.

What to expect

  • Early game: You can find space to loot, but hot drops can be heavy because the map has some obvious high-value zones.
  • Mid game: Bigger rotations across ridges and valleys, with lots of chances to get held if you move late.
  • Late game: The ending can swing between open terrain and city fights, so loadout flexibility matters.

Tips that usually pay off

  • Rotate earlier than you think. Rondo loves punishing teams that wait for “one more building”.
  • Carry utility for open crossings. Smokes and throwables stay valuable all game.
  • Keep a mid-to-long option. Even if the finish is urban, you’ll likely get ranged pressure on the way there.

A bit of history

Rondo launched in December 2023 (Update 27.1 era) as PUBG’s tenth map, with an 8×8 layout that blends traditional aesthetics with modern environments.

On this page you can see when Rondo is in rotation for different PUBG regions, what kind of gameplay to expect, and how it compares to other large PUBG maps like Erangel and Taego.
