How PUBG Regions Work (Map Rotation by Country and Region)
PUBG map rotations are not global. The maps you can play at any given time depend on the region and platform your game client connects to.
This is why players in different parts of the world may see different map rotations during the same week.
This page explains how PUBG regions work, how countries are grouped into regions, and how that affects map rotation.
Why PUBG Uses Regions
PUBG divides players into regions to:
- manage server locations and latency
- balance player populations
- support different matchmaking rules (random map vs map select)
- operate separate services in specific countries
Because of this, map rotation is defined per region, not per country.
PUBG Regions Used for Map Rotation
The main regions used in official PUBG Map Service Reports are:
- AS (Asia)
- SEA (Southeast Asia & Oceania)
- KAKAO (South Korea only)
- NA (North America)
- SA (South America)
- EU (Europe, Middle East & Africa)
- RU (Russia & nearby countries)
Each region has its own weekly map rotation.

South Korea (KAKAO)
South Korea operates on a separate PUBG service (Kakao Games). Korean players always use the KAKAO region and do not share rotations with other Asian regions.
Asia (AS)
Typically includes:
- Japan (JP)
- Taiwan (TW)
- Hong Kong (HK)
- Macau (MO)
- Mainland China (CN, where applicable)
Players in these countries usually connect to the AS region.
Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEA)
Typically includes:
- Singapore (SG)
- Malaysia (MY)
- Thailand (TH)
- Vietnam (VN)
- Philippines (PH)
- Indonesia (ID)
- Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Brunei
- Australia (AU)
- New Zealand (NZ)
- Pacific nations
Although Australia and New Zealand are not in Southeast Asia geographically, PUBG players there typically connect to SEA servers.
North America (NA)
- United States (US)
- Canada (CA)
- Mexico (MX)
Players in these countries connect to the NA region.
South America (SA)
Includes most of South America, such as:
- Brazil (BR)
- Argentina (AR)
- Chile (CL)
- Peru (PE)
- Colombia (CO)
These countries use the SA region.
Europe, Middle East & Africa (EU)
The EU region covers:
- United Kingdom and Europe
- Middle Eastern countries (for example, Turkey, Israel, Gulf states)
- African countries
PUBG does not currently operate a separate Middle East or Africa region, so these areas generally fall under EU for map rotation.
Russia & Nearby Countries (RU)
Typically includes:
- Russia (RU)
- Kazakhstan (KZ)
- Belarus (BY)
These countries use the RU region.
Why Some Regions Use Random Maps and Others Don’t
PUBG applies different matchmaking rules per region. Some regions allow map selection. Others use random map rotation only.
These rules are decided by PUBG and can change over time depending on player population and matchmaking health.
This is why map availability may differ even when the map list itself looks similar.
How pubgmaps.info Determines Your Region
On pubgmaps.info:
- Your approximate region may be detected using IP-based location
- You can always manually change the region
- URLs with a region in the path (for example
/pc/sea/maps) always show that region, regardless of location
The detected region is a best guess, not a hard rule.
Important Notes
- PUBG does not publish an official per-country region list
- VPNs can affect which region you actually connect to
- Players near regional boundaries may connect to different regions depending on settings and routing
- For this reason, pubgmaps.info always allows manual selection
